There is no track in the world quite like the Circuit de Monaco. The tight, twisting streets of the Principality offer the ultimate test of precision, nerve, and racecraft. This weekend (June 4-7), the FIA Formula 3 Championship rolls into town for Round 2 of the 2026 season, and the stakes couldn't be higher for the grid's young talents hoping to catch the eyes of the Formula 1 paddock.
After an action-packed opening round in Melbourne back in March, the 2026 season is already shaping up to be fiercely competitive. Here is how things look at the sharp end of the grid:
Bruno Del Pino (Van Amersfoort Racing) --- 18 points
Freddie Slater (Trident) --- 18 points
Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak (ART Grand Prix) --- 16 points
Enzo Deligny (Hitech Pulse-Eight) --- 12 points
Ugo Ugochukwu heads into the weekend with the championship lead after a commanding Feature Race victory in Australia. However, Bruno Del Pino proved he has the pace to challenge, securing the Sprint Race win in Melbourne and sitting just 7 points adrift. With Trident's Freddie Slater tied for second, the battle at the front is incredibly tight.
For F3 cars, Monaco is a completely different beast compared to the flowing nature of Albert Park.
Qualifying is Everything: Given the notorious difficulty of overtaking around the 3.337 km circuit, Friday's split qualifying session will likely dictate the weekend. A front-row start is practically a prerequisite for victory.
Split Groups: Because 30 cars trying to find a clear lap on the tight Monaco streets is a recipe for disaster, qualifying will be split into Group A and Group B. Navigating traffic and maximizing that one golden lap on fresh Pirelli rubber will be the defining moment of the weekend.
Make sure your alarms are set --- here are the key track sessions for the F3 grid this weekend (all times local track time):
Practice: Thursday, June 4 (13:25 - 14:10)
Qualifying (Group A & B): Friday, June 5 (Starts at 11:05)
Sprint Race: Saturday, June 6 (10:45 - 11:25)
Feature Race: Sunday, June 7 (07:45 - 08:30)
With the championship narrative just beginning to unfold, Monaco is guaranteed to provide drama, heartbreak, and a masterclass in car control.
