The Monaco Grand Prix stewards have handed financial penalties to both Alpine and Williams after their respective drivers exceeded the pit lane speed limit during final practice.
The 60 km/h (37.2 mph) limit in force throughout the Monaco weekend proved a recurring theme for the stewards, with two more teams joining the infractions list on Saturday morning.

Franco Colapinto was the more significant transgressor of the two. The Alpine driver was clocked at 68.9 km/h (42.8 mph) — 8.9 km/h over the limit — a margin that left the stewards with little room for leniency. Alpine were duly handed a €900 fine as a result.
For Williams, the infringement was far narrower in scale but no less punishable in principle. Alex Albon was recorded at 60.2 km/h — just 0.2 km/h above the permitted limit — a razor-thin margin that still drew a €100 fine from the stewards.

It is worth noting that this type of infringement has been a recurring theme across the Monaco weekend. Earlier in the event, Mercedes were also handed a €100 fine after George Russell exceeded the same 60 km/h limit by 0.3 km/h during Free Practice 1, underscoring how closely monitored pit lane speeds are on the streets of Monte Carlo.
While neither penalty carries significant sporting consequences, the contrast between Colapinto's nearly 15% overspeed and Albon's near-invisible breach illustrates how the same regulation can produce very different outcomes in practice.
