Monaco has always been Formula 1's most theatrical stage, and the teams that race through its streets know the opportunity it presents. Special liveries are part of the ritual, and for the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix, Aston Martin is embracing that tradition with a striking new look developed in collaboration with principal partner Maaden.
Just days after McLaren unveiled a special metallic livery to mark its historic 1000th Formula 1 Grand Prix, Aston Martin confirmed its own visual transformation — one that goes well beyond a simple colour swap.

The AMR26 will temporarily set aside Aston Martin's iconic British Racing Green in favour of a design built around the "From Rock to Racetrack" campaign. The concept traces the journey of metals and minerals from the point of extraction through to high-performance engineering applications, illustrating how raw materials sourced by Maaden ultimately become the fundamental components that power modern technology — including, by extension, a Formula 1 car.
The execution is visually ambitious. The livery features an iridescent, colour-shifting finish produced using a special coating material that Aston Martin is deploying for the first time. As the AMR26 snakes through Monaco's iconic street circuit, the design visibly changes hue — a deliberate artistic choice that mirrors the campaign's central theme of transformation.
The same aesthetic extends across the entire team's presentation. Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll will wear race suits carrying the Maaden design, while mechanics' helmets and overalls will also reflect the special look.
"This weekend, we are proud to celebrate our principal partner Maaden through this unique livery takeover at the Monaco Grand Prix," said Jefferson Slack, Aston Martin's managing director of commercial operations. "More than a livery alone, the whole campaign highlights the important role Maaden plays in shaping and transforming materials into components we all use — including in the world of Formula 1. We look forward to seeing the striking Maaden design on the streets of Monaco this weekend."

The visual spectacle arrives at a difficult moment for the Silverstone-based outfit. Aston Martin has endured a troubled start to its 2026 campaign — the first season featuring an Adrian Newey-designed car — with engine vibrations and reliability concerns disrupting the team's new works partnership with Honda. Lance Stroll has already confirmed that the team's first upgrades of the season will not arrive until Zandvoort, underlining the scale of the challenge still facing the team.
For now, though, Monaco offers a moment of colour — quite literally — in what has otherwise been a grey start to the year.
