Adrian Campos believes Nikola Tsolovâs name belongs in the conversation for a future Formula 1 promotion after the Bulgarian completed a historic FIA Formula 2 weekend at Silverstone.
Tsolov doubled up at the British circuit to become the first driver in FIA Formula 2 history to win three consecutive races. The result also moved him to the top of the Driversâ Championship, with his fifth and sixth victories of the 2026 campaign taking him to 141 pointsâ17 clear of Gabriele MinĂŹ.

The result was particularly significant for Campos Racing because the team had expected Silverstone to be one of its most difficult weekends of the season. The squadâs concerns appeared justified after a challenging Practice session, but a rapid turnaround put Tsolov and the team at the front in both races.
âI'm speechless, to be honest, I would never say that this was going to happen here,â Campos said in the paddock on Sunday. âIt was probably our weakest race weekend that we were expecting for this year. And it turned into the best in terms of results.â
Campos credited the team for recovering from its difficult start, but he was clear that Tsolovâs performance had been the decisive factor. The Team Principal said the squad had provided the driver with a competitive car, while Tsolov had made the difference through the weekend.
âHe's the one making the difference. We are doing what we need to do properly. We are giving him a good car, but he's the one making the difference,â Campos explained. âHe does everything so easily, and that is surprising everyone.â

Tsolovâs Red Bull Junior Team connection has already fuelled speculation about an F1 future. Campos believes those discussions are justified and hopes the 2026 championship leader receives the opportunity he has earned.
âTo be honest, I really hope that he gets a chance in F1. He really deserves it,â he added. The growing interest around Tsolov has also been reflected in recent coverage of speculation linking him with a possible Racing Bulls seat (Liam Lawson brushes off Tsolov speculation).
With a break between Rounds 7 and 8, teams now have time to assess their data before Spa-Francorchamps. Campos expects Campos Racing to remain competitive, even while acknowledging that another victory cannot be guaranteed.
âWe have been fighting for the win every race weekend. So I expect the same, at least,â he said. âWe will be strong and we want to be, let's say, at least a pain in the ass for everyone else!â
