CUPRA KIRO will continue as a Porsche customer team into Formula E’s incoming GEN4 era, with Porsche and Kiro Race Co confirming that their technical relationship will extend into the 2026/27 season and beyond.
The agreement keeps CUPRA KIRO aligned with the Porsche powertrain programme at a pivotal moment for the championship. Since the partnership began at the start of the 2024/25 season, the team has run the Porsche 99X Electric powertrain package, a championship-winning system that has helped the squad deliver a race win and two pole positions.

For a smaller operation, that performance return has underlined the value of a proven manufacturer supply in a series where efficiency, deployment and execution can define an entire weekend. The continuation into GEN4 gives CUPRA KIRO technical stability just as Formula E prepares for one of the most significant performance steps in its history.
The move also lands amid growing attention around the next-generation car, with Formula E already preparing wider showcases of its technology. For more on how the championship is presenting the GEN4 transition, read our report on Formula E’s Goodwood Festival of Speed GEN4 showcase.

The GEN4 car is set to bring a major leap over the current GEN3 Evo machinery. It is capable of speeds in excess of 335kph, accelerating from 0-100kph in approximately 1.8 seconds and from 0-200kph in 4.4 seconds, which is 1.5 seconds quicker than its predecessor.
In race mode, GEN4 will deliver 50% more power than the current car, while qualifying performance is expected to be around 10 seconds per lap faster on average than GEN3. ATTACK MODE will increase output to as much as 600kW, representing a 71% rise in base output compared with GEN3 Evo.
Just as significantly, GEN4 will be the only single-seater race car with permanent all-wheel drive, adding another layer of technical challenge for both Porsche and CUPRA KIRO as they adapt to the new platform.
With four rounds remaining in the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, Porsche leads the Manufacturers’ standings on 384 points, holding a 50-point advantage over Jaguar.
In the Teams’ Championship, Porsche remains in pursuit, trailing Jaguar TCS Racing by just six points. CUPRA KIRO currently sits eighth with 86 points, but its confirmed Porsche link gives the team continuity heading into Formula E’s next competitive cycle.
