Lewis Hamilton has declared an immediate change to his race weekend preparation following a deeply frustrating Miami Grand Prix. The seven-time world champion endured a difficult event from start to finish, struggling to find contention for the front-running positions during both the sprint sessions and grand prix qualifying.
His Sunday race was effectively compromised on the opening lap. Contact with Franco Colapinto—an incident that later prompted Lewis Hamilton’s apologies to Ferrari after Franco Colapinto incident—left Hamilton’s car with significant damage, severely limiting his performance potential. Despite the early setback, Hamilton managed to cross the line in sixth place, though he admitted to spending the majority of the race isolated in "no man's land."

"I'm going to have a different approach for the next race," Hamilton told media. "The way we're preparing at the moment is not helping. We'll see how that goes for the next race."
The frustration was compounded by the fact that the car had shown promise prior to the race start. "Without the damage, I think we would have been right up in the fight," Hamilton noted. "The car was feeling good on the laps the grid. So it's a shame, because it doesn't really truly reflect the hard work that the team has done."

Looking ahead, the Formula 1 calendar moves to the Canadian Grand Prix, an event Hamilton has won seven times—the joint most alongside Michael Schumacher. However, the British driver remains cautious about Ferrari's prospects in Montreal.
Hamilton conceded that the upcoming race is likely to present another significant challenge for the team, primarily due to a glaring deficit in straight-line speed, a recurring theme considering that despite a five-week gap, Ferrari couldn’t fix Lewis Hamilton's problems on his car.
"We're going to another track with long straights and we're losing three to four tenths just some straight line speed," Hamilton explained. "So that's there, and it's going to be there until we fix it."
Despite the inherent limitations of the current package, Hamilton remains focused on moving past the struggles of South Florida. "A weekend to forget [in Miami], we move forwards and we'll try and see if we can attract more at the next one."
