Munich will become the tenth city worldwide to host the Formula 1® Exhibition when it opens its doors on 20 May 2026, marking another milestone in the show’s expanding global journey.
The Bavarian capital will serve as the exhibition’s second German venue, following a highly successful run in Oberhausen that attracted more than 150,000 visitors. That turnout underscored Germany’s enduring passion for Formula 1 and set the stage for the experience to move to one of Europe’s most prominent cultural centres.
The award-winning exhibition will be staged at Pineapple Park in Munich, continuing a tour that has already captivated audiences in Madrid, Vienna, London, Amsterdam, Oberhausen, Toronto, Buenos Aires, Mexico City and Melbourne. To date, the immersive showcase has drawn well over 1.3 million visitors worldwide, reinforcing its position as a major attraction for motorsport fans and newcomers alike.
Munich’s selection reflects both its international standing and Germany’s deep-rooted connection to Formula 1. The country’s heritage in the sport spans world champions Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel and Nico Rosberg, alongside notable drivers such as Ralf Schumacher. Germany is also home to iconic circuits including the Nürburgring and Hockenheim, as well as leading constructors such as Mercedes and the sport’s newest entrant, Audi, represented by German driver Nico Hülkenberg.
Covering approximately 3,000 square metres, the exhibition guides visitors through a series of themed rooms that explore the sport’s defining stories, pivotal moments and technical revolutions.
The experience brings together legendary original race cars, exclusive image and audio content, rare photographic and archival material, and large-scale installations designed to immerse visitors in Formula 1’s drama and innovation.
Among the standout exhibits are the Mercedes W02, driven by Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg during the 2011 season, and Max Verstappen’s RB16B, the car that delivered the first of his four consecutive world championships.
Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer at Formula 1, highlighted Germany’s importance to the championship and the exhibition’s continued growth:
“After the incredible response to the Formula 1 Exhibition in Oberhausen, we are delighted to announce Munich as the next stop on the European tour. Germany has a rich motorsport heritage and the arrival of Audi to the grid this season further deepens the sport’s connection with the country. F1 Exhibition has been a great success around the world, and we look forward to even more people experiencing the drama and excitement of Formula 1 in this latest instalment.”
Jonathan Linden, Co-CEO of Round Room Live and Producer of The Formula 1® Exhibition, emphasised Munich’s strategic and cultural fit:
“Following the fantastic German debut in Oberhausen, it was clear that we wanted to bring the excitement of the F1 Exhibition to even more fans in Germany. The city of Munich, with its deep history in the sport and proximity to manufacturers involved in the World Championship such as Mercedes and Audi, as well as the striking Pineapple Park venue, is the perfect location to bring The F1 Exhibition to Munich.”
With Munich now confirmed, the Formula 1 Exhibition continues to blend heritage, technology and storytelling, reinforcing Germany’s place at the heart of the sport while extending its global footprint.
