Goodyear has renewed the FIAâs Three-Star Environmental Accreditation, reinforcing what the company describes as a fully integrated sustainability push across its racing operations, products and activities. The programme gives motorsport and mobility organisations a structured framework to measure, manage and improve environmental performance.
The company first received the FIAâs highest environmental rating in 2024, and this renewal two years later underlines the scale of progress made since then. The latest assessment follows a marked increase in Goodyearâs sustainability initiatives, spanning manufacturing, product innovation, trackside operations and logistics.

The FIAâs review stated that âthe evidence submitted demonstrates strong top-management commitment to environmental sustainability, supported by a well-structured and well-integrated Environmental Management System (EMS), ensuring effective implementation and continual improvementâ.
In a wider motorsport context, the FIAâs role in governance and operational scrutiny remains central across categories, as seen in recent coverage of FIA procedural oversight in Formula 1.

Goodyear Racing Vice-President Xavier Fraipont said the renewal validated the companyâs direction. âRenewing the FIAâs highest standard of environmental accreditation is a strong validation of the progress we have made in embedding sustainability across our racing operations,â he commented.
Fraipont added that Goodyearâs work has reached every level of its racing activity, from tyre design and manufacturing to how the company operates at the circuit. He also stressed that Goodyear sees performance and responsibility as complementary rather than conflicting goals.
âCrucially, we are proving there is no trade-off between performance and a more responsible approach â the two go hand-in-hand,â he said. âMotorsport has always been a driver of innovation, and today, it also plays a key role in advancing more sustainable mobility.â
A key example is Goodyearâs recently introduced 2027 generation of EAGLE racing tyres for LMGT3, which combines improved on-track performance with the use of 66 per cent sustainable materials. The company is also placing greater emphasis on virtual development and simulation, while its single-specification strategy is aimed at reducing resource use and logistics impact.
Goodyear says these developments show how motorsport can accelerate innovation for both racing and road mobility. Its longer-term targets include a transition to 100 per cent renewable energy in manufacturing by 2040 and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050.
Marek Nawarecki, the FIAâs Senior Circuit Sport Director, said the renewed accreditation reflected the sustained commitment the programme is designed to recognise. Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de lâOuest, also congratulated Goodyear, highlighting its role as a major endurance racing partner and describing endurance competition as a laboratory for progress in both performance and mobility transformation.
