Christian Horner hints at possible new-team route for F1 comeback

Christian Horner has raised the prospect of returning to Formula 1 through a new team, pointing to the possibility of a 12th entry while stressing he is in no hurry to come back.
The former Red Bull team principal said the grid currently has 11 teams and that another could join. He did not identify a prospective outfit or suggest a return is imminent, adding that any move would depend on finding the right project.

Hornerâs comments come amid renewed attention around his future in the sport. He has been linked with roles at Aston Martin and Alpine, while remarks about Ferrariâs team principal position recently fuelled speculation that he might replace Fred Vasseur. Horner subsequently said those Ferrari comments had been taken out of context. Ferrari also held an impromptu press session as the rumours gathered pace.
A new team is one possible route back
Hornerâs reference to a potential 12th entry offers a different path from joining an existing team. He has spent the period since his departure from Red Bull outside the F1 paddock, and has made clear that interest in a comeback will not push him into a quick decision.
That measured stance echoes his recent comments on the speculation surrounding his return. Our coverage of Horner addressing comeback rumours tracks the questions that have followed him since leaving Red Bull.
He said he still enjoys the competition and working with people, but would only consider returning if the opportunity was right. Otherwise, he is content with his current situation.

Horner points to a successful spell at Red Bull
Horner led Red Bull for 20 years, overseeing its rise from an outsider into one of the sportâs leading teams. His record with the organisation included 14 world championships, 124 Grand Prix wins and 287 podiums across 405 races.
His immediate public commitments include the release and promotion of his autobiography, Drive. F1LivePulse has reported on the UK tour planned around the memoirâs launch.
Despite the speculation over possible destinations, Hornerâs latest remarks leave the central question unresolved: whether a suitable project will emerge. For now, he has signalled that a return is possible, not that one is close.
