Racing Bulls prepare three-part upgrade for Lawson in Austin

Liam Lawson could have a revised Racing Bulls car beneath him at the United States Grand Prix, with the team preparing a package of at least three new components for Austin.
A report from F1Ingenerale says the upgrades are ready to be fitted to the VCARB03. The package is understood to include a new floor, updated sidepods and a revised engine cover, with parts set to be shipped to America for both cars.

The news comes after Lawson finished seventh at the Singapore Grand Prix. He has scored more points than Oscar Piastri across the last four races and sits ninth in the Driversâ Championship, 34 points ahead of Pierre Gasly. The Singapore result has also kept attention on his place at the team; see our coverage of Lawsonâs points and the Racing Bulls seat question.
New bodywork is aimed at improving aerodynamic management
The three reported changes are intended to help Racing Bulls manage airflow through the car and increase speed. The Circuit of The Americas features a range of high-speed corners, giving the team a track where any improvement in aerodynamic performance could matter.
Racing Bulls are planning to provide the package to both Lawson and Arvid Lindblad. The two drivers could therefore assess the revised specification together, as the team looks to make the most of its latest development. Read more about the Lawson-Lindblad partnership at Racing Bulls.

Lawson has a chance to close the gap in the standings
Lawson is currently one place behind Isack Hadjar, who is ahead of him in the championship. With six races remaining, the source report suggests a top-eight finish is within reach if Lawson continues his points-scoring run.
The upgrade is not guaranteed to deliver an immediate gain. Racing Bulls may need time to understand how the new components work together, and Lawson will be hoping they do not interrupt the form he has shown in recent races. The packageâs performance in Austin could shape how much ground he can make up before the season ends.
