The landscape of the Formula E grid is set for a seismic shift as Jaguar TCS Racing confirms that Mitch Evans will depart the team at the conclusion of the current season. This announcement marks the end of a decade-long partnership, a tenure that has defined the modern era of the all-electric championship.
Since joining the British manufacturer for its inaugural season in 2016, Evans has been the cornerstone of Jaguar’s Formula E program. Having never raced for another team in the category, the New Zealander’s departure signals the conclusion of one of the most enduring and successful driver-team relationships in the series' history. During his time with the "Big Cat," Evans has set the record for the most race wins in the championship, cementing his status as a titan of the sport.
Reflecting on the decision, which was reached by mutual consent, Evans expressed his gratitude for the journey. "To have been with Jaguar TCS Racing right from the beginning and achieved so much success throughout the last ten years in Formula E has been incredible," he stated. "It has been a memorable experience and there have been so many highlights throughout our journey together, but the time is right to embark on a new challenge for next season."

Jaguar team boss Ian James paid tribute to the departing driver, acknowledging his monumental contribution to the team's legacy. "The partnership between Jaguar TCS Racing and Mitch has been synonymous with the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship," James noted. "Through his huge successes achieved with the team over the course of the past decade, Mitch has cemented his place in Jaguar’s motorsport history."
As the team prepares for the future, including the upcoming Formula E Berlin E-Prix, the focus remains on the 11 races left in the partnership. While rumors persist regarding a move to Opel for the Gen4 era and the promotion of reserve driver Stoffel Vandoorne to the Jaguar seat, the team is prioritizing the current fight for the Manufacturers’ and Teams’ titles.
Evans, meanwhile, is determined to finish his tenure on a high note, working alongside his teammate and friend António Félix da Costa to secure the ultimate prize. As the series prepares for the Formula E Gen4 era, the departure of such a pivotal figure will undoubtedly reshape the competitive order of the grid.
