After a five-week hiatus, the 2026 Formula E season roars back into action this weekend with the highly anticipated Berlin E-Prix. Rounds seven and eight will take place at the iconic Tempelhof Airport Circuit, a venue that holds the unique distinction of having featured on every single Formula E calendar since the series' inception.
This weekend’s double-header marks a significant milestone, as it will host the 23rd and 24th races at the historic German site, which ceased operations as an airport in 2018. With the event officially sold out, the atmosphere in the German capital is set to be electric.
All eyes will be on home hero Pascal Wehrlein, who enters his home race leading the drivers' championship by an 11-point margin over Edoardo Mortara. In the teams' and constructors' standings, German powerhouse Porsche currently holds the top spot, though they face immense pressure from a surging Jaguar outfit.
Jaguar arrives in Berlin with significant momentum following a dominant one-two finish in Madrid. The team’s recent form is undeniable, with three of the last four races claimed by either António Félix da Costa or Mitch Evans. Furthermore, Jaguar’s track record at Tempelhof is formidable, having swept both victories at the venue last year.
As the series prepares for the future, fans can also look forward to the upcoming Formula E Gen4 era, which promises to redefine the performance standards of the championship.
The action kicks off on Friday, May 1, with the first free practice session at 15:00 BST. Saturday, May 2, begins with second practice at 08:30 BST, followed by qualifying for the seventh round at 10:40 BST. The race itself is scheduled for 15:00 BST.
Sunday, May 3, follows an identical format, with third practice, qualifying for the eighth round, and the second race of the weekend mirroring Saturday’s timeline.
