Arvid Lindblad explains why Liam Lawson partnership is driving Racing Bulls forward

Lindblad and Lawson have found the right balance
Racing Bulls rookie Arvid Lindblad says his partnership with Liam Lawson has created the kind of competitive but constructive dynamic that is helping the teamâs Formula 1 progress.
The 19-year-old Briton has impressed during the first half of his debut campaign. He opened the season with eighth place at the Australian Grand Prix, scoring four points, before missing out at the Japanese, Miami and Canadian Grands Prix. Since then, however, Lindblad has delivered a run of six consecutive points-paying finishes.

That consistency, combined with Lawsonâs own scoring form, has helped Racing Bulls move ahead of Alpine in the constructorsâ standings before the summer break. The shift underlines the value of two drivers consistently converting the carâs potential into results â a storyline also reflected in Alpineâs 2026 half-season report.
Speaking to F1.com, Lindblad described his relationship with Lawson as positive both inside and outside the car.

âHonestly, Iâd say we have a good relationship,â Lindblad said. âI think together weâve done a really good job to have a good dynamic in general, really being able to switch between the on and off track.â

Competition without disruption
The pair remain direct rivals whenever they are racing, but Lindblad said that competition has not damaged the atmosphere within the team.
âOn track, we both want to beat the other, and thatâs the nature of sport, but when we are out of the car, we have a genuine, nice relationship, and thereâs a nice dynamic within the team. Thatâs made it enjoyable,â he explained.
For Racing Bulls, that balance is especially important. Lindblad believes the pressure each driver applies to the other is translating into stronger performances across the garage.
âWeâve pushed each other on a lot, and I think thatâs been good for both of us,â he said. âItâs also good for the team, as the more we push each other, the more performance we get, and thatâs showing through the results.â
Lindblad also credited the team for continuing to improve the car, while stressing that the driversâ internal battle has played its part in Racing Bullsâ recent competitiveness.
The partnership has extended beyond the circuit as well. Lindblad and Lawson frequently appear together in Racing Bullsâ social media videos, part of a content strategy that has helped the team build one of the sportâs strongest online followings. Racing Bulls has four million Instagram followers and 2.3 million on TikTok â evidence that its driver pairing is connecting with fans away from the stopwatch, too.
