Max Verstappen has refused to provide fresh detail on his Red Bull future ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix, offering only brief answers as speculation continues to surround his position within the team.
The four-time champion is contracted to Red Bull until the end of 2028. However, questions over that commitment have intensified amid frustration about the teamâs lack of performance and its inability to consistently challenge for grand prix victories or remain in title contention.

An exit clause is understood to exist in Verstappenâs contract, potentially allowing him to leave for 2027 if he is not among the top two drivers in the standings by the summer break. The clause has not been triggered, while McLaren has been heavily linked with a possible move should Verstappen decide to depart.
That speculation appeared to have cooled ahead of Spa, but Verstappen did nothing to clarify the situation during his media commitments. The subject also follows recent coverage of the wider debate over his Red Bull contract.

Asked whether he could provide an update, Verstappen replied: âNo.â When questioned on what he made of the speculation, his response was equally direct: âNothing.â
The questions continued, but the answer remained unchanged. Asked whether he had a date in mind for any decision, Verstappen said: âNo, there is nothing to say from my side.â
A further question about his commitment to Red Bull produced another refusal to engage: âI said there is nothing to say.â
Verstappen was then asked whether he wanted to remain with Red Bull and whether he would be driving for the team next year. He rejected the invitation to give a simple confirmation or denial.
âI donât want to go here, and say yes or no and this or that about my future,â he said. âI have said many times about my future, that if there is something new [to say], I will say it myself.â
For now, Verstappenâs position is therefore defined less by confirmation than by restraint. With the Belgian Grand Prix approaching, he has made clear that he will not allow repeated questions to force a public decision on his future.
