How to follow São Paulo GP live timing on your laptop

Open the Formula Live Pulse web app on your laptop or desktop and head to Live Timing during each session.

There is no desktop application to install. Use your browser to follow the leaderboard, check gaps and compare lap times while keeping an eye on battles across the field.

A laptop makes a useful second screen when you are watching the Grand Prix on television. While the cameras concentrate on one driver, the timing screen helps you follow another: check whether a rival is closing, compare successive laps and monitor changes around the pit stops.

What can you follow with our F1 live timing?

Formula Live Pulse brings together the timing information and session context that help explain the action:

  • Live positions and gaps: follow the leader and the intervals between drivers.
  • Lap and sector times: compare laps and identify where drivers gain or lose time.
  • Tyre compounds and stints: understand which tyres drivers are using and how their runs develop.
  • Pit stops: monitor stops and the resulting changes in the running order.
  • Race control messages: keep up with flags, investigations and session updates.
  • Available team radio: hear additional context from drivers and their teams.

During practice, look beyond the fastest lap. Different fuel loads, tyres and run programmes can affect the order, so a headline time alone does not establish race pace.

In qualifying, sector times help you follow an attempt before the driver reaches the finish line. During the race, watch how the gaps change over several laps to distinguish a sustained improvement from one unusually quick lap.

How to read the timing screen during the Brazilian Grand Prix

Start with the distinction between the gap to the leader and the interval to the car ahead. The first shows a driver’s position relative to the front of the race; the second helps you follow the immediate battle.

Around pit stops, read positions alongside tyre and stint information. A driver who has already stopped may temporarily sit behind rivals who still need to visit the pits. The running order becomes more meaningful when you know where each driver is in their strategy.

Compare pace over several laps and consider traffic and tyre age before drawing conclusions. A driver on fresh tyres may be faster than a rival on an older set without that difference representing their underlying performance.
