United States GP Qualifying Odds: five drivers in the pole fight
Analyse the 2026 United States GP qualifying odds, with Verstappen leading Antonelli, Leclerc, Norris and Russell in Austin’s pole-position market.

Max Verstappen sets the benchmark in Austin’s qualifying market, but recent results suggest the battle for Saturday’s fastest lap could be more competitive than the race betting implies.
Mercedes claimed the opening ten poles of 2026. Since then, its advantage has faded, creating opportunities for Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren. For bettors, the challenge is deciding how much weight to give early-season dominance against current form.
Verstappen: the favourite at 6/4
At 6/4 (2.50), Verstappen’s price implies a 40% chance of qualifying fastest, before bookmaker margin.

Successive poles at Sepang and Singapore strengthen his credentials. His Singapore qualifying performance ahead of both Ferraris also provides a useful recent comparison with Leclerc.
The question is whether Austin preserves that advantage. Being the strongest candidate does not automatically make the favourite good value.
Antonelli: a test of Mercedes’ recovery
Kimi Antonelli remains a leading challenger, although his last pole came at Spa in July.
His championship position demonstrates his season-long strength, but qualifying bets demand a narrower assessment: can Mercedes deliver the fastest single lap this weekend?

His published odds require caution. The quoted 12/5 equals 3.40 in decimal format, rather than the conflicting 2.40 also displayed in the guide.
Leclerc: Ferrari’s qualifying threat
Charles Leclerc is priced at 7/1 (8.00). Recent front-row starts in Baku and Singapore make him a credible challenger despite remaining without a pole this season.

That price implies a 12.5% chance. Ferrari’s performance in final practice should help determine whether the market understates his prospects.
Norris: McLaren’s potential disruptor
At 15/2 (8.50), Lando Norris offers a longer-priced alternative with proven qualifying speed.

Three poles this season show his ceiling. The uncertainty is whether McLaren can reproduce that performance at COTA; clean, representative practice laps will be more informative than reputation alone.
Russell: experience at 8/1
George Russell’s 8/1 (9.00) deserves consideration alongside Antonelli’s shorter price. Five poles this season, including Azerbaijan, underline his ability to convert a competitive Mercedes into Saturday success.

The decisive comparison is likely to be within the team: how closely can Russell match Antonelli before qualifying?
Assess single-lap pace, tyre preparation and session conditions before treating any outsider as value. Recent qualifying coverage offers further context.
Live bookmaker prices were not checked. Odds may change; Antonelli’s published price contains conflicting conversions.
