Brando Badoer Steps Up to Formula 2 with Rodin for 2027

Rodin Motorsport has confirmed Brando Badoer for its 2027 FIA Formula 2 campaign, keeping the Italian with the team as he makes the next move up the single-seater ladder.
A strong F3 season earns promotion
Badoerâs promotion follows a productive 2026 Formula 3 season with Rodin. He finished eighth in the Driversâ Standings, taking four podiums, including a Feature Race victory in Monte Carlo. That run of results helped establish the foundation for his move into F2. Readers can revisit coverage of Badoerâs 2026 F3 campaign ahead of his step up.

The 20-year-old has built experience across several junior categories. In 2023, he finished sixth in the Formula 4 UAE, Italian F4 and Euro 4 Championships. He placed fifth in the Formula Regional European Championship in 2024, then fourth in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship in 2025.
The F2 move extends a progression that has included results in both Formula 4 and Formula Regional competition before his first F3 campaign with Rodin. Now, the team will provide continuity as Badoer takes on a new category in 2027.

Badoer welcomes the next step
Badoer said he was pleased to continue with Rodin and credited the teamâs trust in him. âIâm really happy to be announced as a Formula 2 driver for Rodin Motorsport. Iâm grateful to the team for the opportunity and the trust theyâve put in me, and after such a great season together, Iâm excited to continue this journey.â
He also described the team as a close-knit environment and said he was looking forward to working with its F2 operation, building on their shared achievements and creating more positive moments together.
Rodin Motorsport Sporting Director Benn Huntingford said the team was delighted to continue its relationship with Badoer. He pointed to the driverâs progress in his first season with Rodin, his Monaco win and multiple podiums, as well as his role in the teamâs F3 campaign.
Huntingford said those performances had demonstrated Badoerâs capability, adding that Rodin looked forward to seeing him build on his experience in Formula 2. The announcement gives Badoer a clear next step with the team that supported his F3 season, with his 2027 campaign marking his first season in the category.
