Camara keeps focus on Invicta championship campaign

Rafael Camara is refusing to let speculation over a possible 2027 Haas Formula 1 seat distract him from the Formula 2 title fight with Invicta Racing.

The 21-year-old acknowledges that the attention is encouraging, but says it will count for little unless he delivers the results required in the championship. His position reflects the central reality of the junior single-seater ladder: potential opportunities are ultimately shaped by performance when the title is still at stake.

He immediately stressed, however, that his priority remains the season in front of him.

“At the same time, you don’t want to get too much into that because I’m still in a very important championship, and if you do well, most likely you’re going to get a chance. So, on my side, I’m just really focusing on this year.”

The Formula 2 title fight remains wide open, making the remainder of Camara’s campaign especially significant as the championship resumes after the break.

Ferrari connection fuels Haas speculation

Camara’s links to Haas are also connected to his status as a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy. Haas’s close technical partnership with Ferrari, together with the American team’s history of accommodating Ferrari junior drivers, has made it a natural destination in the current speculation.

Recent reports have suggested that Ferrari could use that influence to place Camara at Haas for 2027, potentially as a replacement for Esteban Ocon. That scenario remains a rumour, though, and Camara’s own message is clear: the most direct route to an opportunity is to finish the F2 season strongly.

He also underlined the value of his current position with Invicta, describing the chance to fight for the championship as one that few drivers receive.

“Not many people get this opportunity, especially being in a team that’s one of the best in Formula 2 and having the chance to fight for the championship,” he said. “I would just want to make the most of it and make sure that I enjoy every moment.”
