Câmara says F2 title remains wide open after Baku lead change

Rafael Câmara heads into the final two rounds of the Formula 2 season with the championship lead, but the Invicta Racing driver is taking nothing for granted after his Baku breakthrough. His victory in the Feature Race moved him from seven points behind Nikola Tsolov to seven points ahead, with the title still within reach of several drivers.
Câmara’s Baku result continued a campaign in which he has collected three wins, five pole positions and seven podiums. He says his focus remains on extracting the maximum from each weekend rather than changing his approach now that he is at the top of the standings. His Baku move into the championship lead marked a major swing in the contest.

Câmara expects the title to be decided on track
The Brazilian believes the closing rounds could turn on which of the leading contenders finishes ahead. But, he said, that possibility does not alter the work required: prepare thoroughly, deliver strong performances and score as many points as possible.

Câmara has spent much of the season chasing Tsolov and says the title battle brings different situations from one weekend to the next. His response, however, is consistent: concentrate on what he and the team can control, and be ready to perform when it matters. He also stressed the standard of competition in Formula 2, where a strong result cannot be taken for granted.
His qualifying record has been a key part of that campaign, including the pole position he secured at Monza.

Tsolov and Dunne remain in contention
Tsolov is Câmara’s nearest rival, while Alexander Dunne sits third, 18 points behind the leader. Gabriele Minì has fallen further back since Baku but retains an outside chance of the championship.
The final two events are at Lusail and Yas Marina. Câmara acknowledged that the gap gives him some margin, but said a difficult weekend could bring his rivals back into contention—and that anything can happen in racing. He plans to keep pushing for points at both rounds, with no intention of easing off before the title is decided.
