The Formula 1 paddock continues to buzz with speculation regarding the future of former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner. Following his departure from the Milton Keynes-based squad midway through the 2025 season, Horner made a rare public appearance at the MotoGP weekend in Jerez, further fueling rumors about his next career move.
Hornerâs presence at the Jerez circuit marked his first attendance at a MotoGP event in over two decades. The former team boss admitted that the relentless demands of his previous role in Formula 1 had long prevented him from exploring other disciplines.
âI've just to come to learn a little bit more when I got some time, explore other forms of motorsport, which I didn't have time to do previously,â Horner told TNT Sports. âI'm liking what I see, but there's always going to be speculation.â
Horner noted that the invitation to attend came from both the MotoGP organizers and Liberty Media, highlighting the common ownership now shared between the two premier motorsport series. Reflecting on his return to the two-wheeled paddock, he added: âI've got a bit of time on my hands, so the MotoGP guys and Liberty [Media] guys kindly invited me to have a look. I've always been a fan. I think it was Estoril 2005 the last time I was at a MotoGP race. It's great to come and see how the sport is doing and developing... It's great to see the teams and riders and the enthusiasm there is for the sport.â

Since his exit from Red Bull, Horner has been the subject of intense industry gossip. Among the various projects linked to his name is a potential return to the Formula 1 grid, with reports suggesting he could be involved in a co-ownership role with Alpine.
While Horner remains tight-lipped about his specific intentions, his high-profile appearance at a Liberty Media-affiliated event will undoubtedly keep the rumor mill turning as the F1 community watches to see where the experienced leader lands next.
