Formula 1 and Leica unveil £7,300 special-edition camera
The Leica Q3 43 Formula 1 Edition pairs a racing-inspired finish with Leica’s Q3 43 camera, and goes on sale on October 21 for £7,300.

Formula 1 and Leica have joined forces on a special-edition camera, combining the Leica Q3 43 with styling drawn from motorsport. The Q3 43 Formula 1 Edition is available from October 21 and costs £7,300.
The release targets fans who want more than conventional team merchandise, with a camera designed to capture both paddock life and action on track. Its Formula 1 identity is worked into the finish rather than changing the underlying model: the special edition is based on Leica’s Q3 43.
Racing details set the edition apart
The camera’s exterior uses handcrafted carbon-fibre components, with black Microvelour covering inspired by racing steering wheels. Red accents provide a subtle contrast, while official F1 branding appears on the top plate and lens cap.

Leica and Formula 1 logos also feature on the rope strap. Together, the design choices give the Q3 43 a motorsport-specific look without obscuring the fact that it remains a version of Leica’s existing camera model.
The collaboration brings together two brands whose shared focus on precision, craftsmanship and attention to detail is central to the product’s pitch. Leica’s high-end photography meets Formula 1-inspired styling, with the camera presented as a tool for recording everything from life around the paddock to fast-moving track scenes.

A premium price for a specialist piece of F1 merchandise
The camera can be bought through Leica stores or the company’s online shop. At £7,300, it sits well beyond the price of ordinary fan apparel, placing the emphasis on specialist photography equipment as much as on its Formula 1 design.
For photographers drawn to the combination of Leica’s Q3 43 platform and racing-inspired detailing, the new edition offers a distinctly branded option. For everyone else, the price may make a phone camera feel considerably more appealing.
