Godzilla is set to make a dramatic entrance into Formula 1.
In a newly announced collaboration between TGR Haas F1 Team, TOHO CO., LTD, and TOHO International, the iconic Japanese character will feature on a special-edition Haas livery for next week’s Japanese Grand Prix. The initiative marks a bold crossover between motorsport and entertainment, placing one of cinema’s most enduring figures on the world’s fastest stage.

The special livery will be officially introduced at Tokyo Midtown Hibiya on March 24, before an exhibition version is displayed at Haneda Airport Terminal 2 from March 25 through March 30. The activation ensures the collaboration extends beyond the circuit, embedding the team in the heart of Tokyo during race week.
According to Haas, this marks the first-ever collaboration with an entertainment intellectual property in the team’s history—a significant milestone for the American outfit.

“This is truly an extraordinary opportunity to showcase our brand to new audiences, and it’s a first for both TGR Haas F1 Team and TOHO,” said Team Principal Ayao Komatsu. “It’s an honor to bring a global icon such as Godzilla to this sport and activate across an important year for the franchise. We want our fanbases to combine and celebrate with us, as there will be lots to engage with this season.”
The scale of the partnership underscores Haas’ intent to broaden its cultural footprint while tapping into a franchise that has spanned more than seven decades.
The collaboration will not be limited to Japan. Haas will also feature the partnership at the United States Grand Prix in October, ahead of the U.S. theatrical release of Godzilla Minus Zero, which arrives in theaters on November 6.
For TOHO, the alliance represents a meeting of two globally recognized brands.
“We are honored to announce this partnership between TGR Haas F1 Team—a team that continues to push the limits of performance on the global stage of Formula 1—and Godzilla, a cultural icon that has continued to evolve for more than 70 years since first emerging from Japan,” said Keiji Ota, Senior Managing Executive Officer and Chief Godzilla Officer, TOHO CO., LTD.
“Godzilla has come to represent indomitable power and resilience, a spirit that deeply resonates with the TGR Haas F1 Team’s determination to constantly break through barriers. Through this collaboration, get ready for Godzilla to rampage on the world’s fastest stage! We promise to bring an unprecedented experience that will excite fans of both Godzilla and the TGR Haas F1 Team all around the world.”
With Formula 1 returning next week for the Japanese Grand Prix, Godzilla’s arrival on the grid adds a distinctive cultural edge to the weekend—blending cinematic legend with Grand Prix spectacle in a first-of-its-kind moment for Haas.
