Haas keeps door open to Jack Doohan beyond 2026

Haas has left the door open to working with Jack Doohan beyond this year, with team principal Ayao Komatsu confirming discussions are continuing as the team considers its options for Esteban Ocon’s replacement.
Komatsu said the Australian’s future with the team remained undecided. He confirmed that Haas had spoken with Doohan and his manager about whether they could find a way to work together after the current year, but said no decision had been reached.

The update leaves Doohan’s next step unresolved. Komatsu said the selection process had been demanding, while praising the drivers who took part in Haas’s TPC tests. Doohan is facing another year away from a race seat, but the team has not ruled out a continuing relationship.
F1LivePulse has also covered Doohan’s wider F1 future and his connection with Haas.

Komatsu praises the TPC test candidates
Komatsu described the pool of drivers involved in the selection process as strong. He said Rafa, Leo Fornaroli, Ryo Hirakawa and Doohan all performed well, and that each made progress whenever they drove the car.
The team principal characterised the process as encouraging, crediting the candidates with getting the best out of themselves. His comments offer a positive assessment of Doohan’s contribution, even as Haas continues to weigh its choices for Ocon’s replacement.
Doohan’s Haas future remains undecided
Komatsu’s comments stop short of confirming a role for Doohan. Instead, he said the team had held conversations with the driver and his manager to explore whether there was an opportunity to continue together beyond this year. The outcome, he stressed, remains open.
That leaves two points clear: Haas was impressed by the drivers who participated in the TPC running, and it is still considering whether a future arrangement with Doohan is possible. For now, the Australian’s prospects with the team remain unsettled, with no agreement announced.
