Isack Hadjar Set for Red Bull Racing Return in Baku
Oracle Red Bull Racing has confirmed that Isack Hadjar will return to the cockpit for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix following his successful recovery from a wrist injury.
The injury, sustained during training over the summer, forced Hadjar to miss several key events, including the races at Zandvoort, Monza, and the newly introduced Madrid Grand Prix. However, after a dedicated period of rehabilitation, the driver has been cleared to resume his duties alongside Max Verstappen starting this weekend in Baku.
Driver Roster Adjustments
Hadjarâs return triggers a series of movements across the Red Bull family. Liam Lawson, who has been standing in for Hadjar at Red Bull Racing over the last three rounds, will now head back to Visa Cash App Racing Bulls. Meanwhile, Yuki Tsunoda is set to return to his reserve duties.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, the team expressed its enthusiasm for Hadjar's return: âOracle Red Bull Racing is delighted to welcome Isack back this weekend. Having made a successful recovery from his wrist injury, Isack will return to action at the Baku City Circuit on Thursday.â
The team also took a moment to acknowledge Lawsonâs recent contributions during this transitional period. âThe team would like to sincerely thank Liam for his professionalism, dedication and hard work over the past three races. Stepping in under challenging circumstances, he delivered some impressive performances and made a valuable contribution to the team. We wish him all the best as he returns to Visa Cash App Racing Bulls,â the statement continued.
Modified Weekend Schedule
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend will feature an adjusted schedule to respect local observances. To avoid a clash with the countryâs Remembrance Day on September 27, the sessions will be brought forward:
- Thursday: Free Practice
- Friday: Qualifying
- Saturday: Grand Prix
This shift ensures that the intense racing at the Baku City Circuit does not conflict with the significant national commemorations taking place later in the month.
