Isack Hadjar unveils broken-trophy helmet for Dutch Grand Prix
Hadjar turns Zandvoort memory into helmet design
Isack Hadjar has revealed a bespoke helmet for this weekendâs Dutch Grand Prix, using the design to revisit one of the defining moments of his debut Formula 1 season.
Following team-mate Max Verstappenâs decision to unveil a special helmet for his home race, Hadjar has chosen a blue-and-white design that pays tribute to his first F1 podium. The achievement came at Zandvoort last year, making the North Holland circuit a particularly significant venue in the young Frenchmanâs career.
The colour scheme could make Hadjarâs helmet difficult to distinguish from Verstappenâs at a glance. Its most important detail, however, is not the choice of colour but the playful reference built into the design: the broken trophy from Hadjarâs breakthrough result.
A podium remembered for more than the result
Hadjar inherited third place after a late retirement by Lando Norris. He then had to keep George Russell behind for the remainder of the race, producing a composed drive from a driver still establishing himself at the sportâs highest level.
The celebrations added an unexpected twist. When Hadjar joined his team to mark the achievement, the trophy presented to him had broken into two pieces. Rather than treat the incident as an unwelcome footnote, he has embraced it as part of the story by immortalising the damaged trophy on his helmet for his return to Zandvoort.
That decision gives the special design a clear connection to the circuit and to the moment that announced Hadjarâs arrival on the Formula 1 podium. It is a light-hearted gesture, but also a reminder of how quickly a young driverâs first major milestone can acquire its own mythology.
Hadjar arrives in the Dutch dunes with momentum behind him, having scored points in each of his last seven races for Red Bull. That run adds competitive context to a weekend already carrying personal significance, as he returns to the track where his short F1 career reached a breakthrough point.
