Tickets on sale for 2027 Mexico City E-Prix: the dawn of the GEN4 Era
The countdown to a transformative chapter in electric motorsport has officially begun. Tickets for the 2027 Mexico City E-Prix are now available to the public, marking a pivotal moment in the 2026/27 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Scheduled for Saturday, January 16, 2027, this event represents much more than just Round 3 of the championship; it is the grand debut of the highly anticipated GEN4 era in Mexico.
Unlocking the Power of GEN4
The 2027 race at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez will witness a massive leap in technical performance. The GEN4 car is set to redefine the limits of the category, offering a significant upgrade over its predecessor. Engineering data reveals a machine capable of reaching speeds exceeding 335kph, with blistering acceleration: 0-100kph in approximately 1.8 seconds and 0-200kph in just 4.4 seconds.
This new generation is roughly 1.5 seconds faster than the GEN3 car in qualifying mode, with an expected average lap time improvement of 10 seconds. The performance gains are even more pronounced in race conditions. The GEN4 platform delivers 50% more power in race mode compared to the current GEN3 Evo. Furthermore, when drivers engage ATTACK MODE, the GEN4 produces up to 600kW of power—a staggering 71% increase in base output over the GEN3 Evo. Notably, the GEN4 stands as the only single-seater race car featuring permanent all-wheel drive.
