The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is expanding its digital footprint in China, with the Porsche Formula E Team’s GEN3 99X Electric making its debut in Tencent’s Need for Speed Mobile on 21 August 2026.
The collaboration follows Formula E’s recent launch in Game for Peace, another major Tencent mobile title. Players in China will be able to drive Porsche’s title-winning electric single-seater, with the in-game car designed around high-torque acceleration and energy recovery mechanics.

The move gives Formula E another route to present the championship’s electric technology to a large gaming audience. It also places the Porsche 99X Electric inside a franchise built around speed, pursuits and vehicle performance, rather than simply treating the car as a visual addition.

The Porsche GEN3 99X Electric will be positioned in the ‘Hall of Legends - Hybrid & Electric Drive’ class. Its handling package has been calibrated for the high-speed streets of Need for Speed Mobile, with several traits intended to separate it from conventional cars in the game.
Its agile drift tuning gives the rear of the car more movement during slides, allowing players to carry higher entry speeds into tight corners and make sharper turn-ins. The car also offers a higher base top speed, precise steering response and automatic nitrous accumulation while cornering.
The most direct link to the real-world Porsche Formula E car is the Energy Recovery System. From a standstill, it provides a sustained high-torque launch boost lasting 2.8 seconds. Under braking, during handbrake turns and through inertia drifts, the system harvests kinetic energy. That temporarily reduces top speed before the stored power is released within two seconds after the drift as a substantial nitrous boost.
The 99X Electric also brings dedicated benefits to Hot Pursuit. In the Street Racer role, equipping the Porsche expands backpack capacity, allowing racers to carry additional tactical supplies. In the Pursuit Team role, the vehicle removes the helicopter cooldown timer, enabling continuous aerial surveillance of targets.
The car arrives through the limited-time ‘Hall Treasures’ event. Players can use Hall Treasure Coupons to draw from the event pool, with the available ways to obtain coupons listed in the Events menu under Specials.
