Rachel Brookes confirms next career move
Rachel Brookes has yet to announce her next permanent broadcasting role after leaving Sky Sports F1, but the presenter has now revealed the next chapter of her motorsport career.
Brookes announced her departure from Sky Sports after more than a decade with the broadcaster, ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix. Her exit came as a surprise to many viewers and members of the Formula 1 community, leaving considerable interest in what she would do next.
A Sky Sports spokesman told PlanetF1: “Rachel has moved on from the Sky Sports F1 team to take on new challenges as we evolve our coverage.”
The statement added: “Rachel has been an asset for the team and we wish her well in her new endeavours.”
From Formula 1 broadcasting to business events
Brookes will join Motorsport to Business as one of its Motorsports Speakers. She will appear on a roster that includes Bernie Collins, Damon Hill and David Coulthard, bringing her experience from the Formula 1 paddock to a corporate audience.
The organisation announced the partnership on Instagram, describing Brookes as a former Sky Sports F1 broadcaster and author who had spent years at the heart of Formula One. It said she would bring the sport’s stories, personalities and pressures to audiences around the world.
Brookes is also the author of F1 Racing: Drive: The Secrets to Formula One Success. Motorsport to Business said the book explores what it takes to succeed at the highest level of motorsport.
Her new role will include keynote speaking, fireside conversations, conferences and corporate events. The organisation highlighted her perspective on performance, resilience, communication, teamwork and operating under pressure, as well as the way lessons from the F1 paddock can be applied to business.
That move gives Brookes an immediate platform beyond live race coverage while she considers her longer-term broadcasting future. The change also reflects the value of her experience away from the television studio: years spent explaining the demands of Formula 1 can now be repurposed for organisations looking to understand high-performance environments.
E1 rumours dismissed
Brookes had also been linked with a move to the E1 electric powerboat racing series. However, she used social media to reject suggestions that the visit represented a new job.
“Fabulous few days away seeing what E1 Series is all about. Not a new job but a lovely opportunity to see another motorsport up close. Loved every second of it,” she wrote.
