Formula 1 fans in the UK and Ireland, get ready for another decade of Martin Brundle's iconic grid walks! Sky Sports has officially announced a five-year extension to its exclusive broadcasting deal with Formula 1, meaning it will remain the exclusive home of the sport in the UK and Ireland until at least 2034.
Comprehensive Coverage: Sky Sports F1 and the streaming platform NOW will continue to be the only places to watch every single practice, qualifying session, Sprint, and Grand Prix live.
Free-to-Air Highlights: Fans without a Sky subscription will still be able to catch the action, as live home nation races and highlights of every Grand Prix will continue to be shared on free-to-air television.
Italian Market Extension: Sky Italia also secured a five-year extension, ensuring Sky remains the home of F1 in Italy until 2032---perfectly timed as 19-year-old Italian sensation Kimi Antonelli currently leads the 2026 Drivers' Championship.
Since Sky took over exclusive UK and Ireland rights in 2019, the sport's viewership has exploded. Total viewing has surged by 90%, and female viewership has more than doubled. The record-breaking 2025 season---which culminated in Britain's Lando Norris winning the Drivers' Championship for McLaren---clocked a staggering 162 million viewer hours on Sky Sports.
F1 President Stefano Domenicali praised the extension, highlighting Sky's "world-leading approach to live broadcasting" and their "amazing group of on-screen talent."
With a thrilling 2026 season well underway and British and Italian talents dominating the grid, Sky Sports is locking in its pole position as the ultimate destination for motorsport broadcasting.
