Abbi Pulling and George Argyros III headline 11-driver Indy NXT test at Indianapolis
An intensive single-seater evaluation is underway at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course on Monday, Sept. 21, as five Indy NXT teams test 11 prospective drivers. The full-day track session runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, giving teams a critical look at emerging talent from across the global motorsport landscape.
Headlining the 11-driver entry list is British racer Abbi Pulling, who will be evaluated by Andretti Global. Pulling arrives at the Brickyard following a milestone run in junior single-seaters, including a dominant title campaign as the 2024 champion in the F1 Academy series alongside her duties as an Alpine Academy driver. In addition to making history as the first woman to win a British F4 race, she captured a breakthrough victory in the GB3 Championship â becoming the first woman since Jamie Chadwick to claim both pole position and a win in the category. The British prospect also gained top-tier electric experience during a high-profile Formula E rookie test with Nissan earlier this year.
High-Profile Lineups and Junior Ladder Standouts
Andretti Globalâs extensive evaluation programme also features American racer George âG3â Argyros III. Argyros has climbed the USF Pro Championships ladder, securing multiple wins and podium finishes across USF Juniors, USF2000, and USF Pro 2000, where he concluded the latest season third in the championship standings. Argyros is the grandson of former US ambassador to Spain and former Seattle Mariners owner George Argyros.
Joining Pulling and Argyros in Andrettiâs test roster is former Mercedes-AMG F1 Junior driver Alex Powell.
Broad Field Across Five Indy NXT Operations
Other teams across the paddock have lined up notable international single-seater contenders for the test:
- Chip Ganassi Racing will run Japanese driver Souta Arao.
- Cape Motorsports powered by ECR brings FIA Formula 3 veteran Nikita Bedrin alongside Jose Garfias.
- AJ Foyt Racing fields Teddy Musella.
- HMD Motorsports rounds out the paddock with a four-driver squad comprising Bruno Del Pino, Leonardo Escorpioni, Patricio Gonzalez, and Rodrigo Gonzalez.
