Alexia Danielsson secures F1 ACADEMY wild card entry for Austin

Alexia Danielsson will make her F1 ACADEMY debut as the Wild Card entry for Round 5 of the 2026 season at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, representing series Official Partner TeamViewer.
The 17-year-old Swedish racer earns her opportunity following an impressive performance at the Navarra Rookie Test, where she topped the afternoon session and concluded running with the second-fastest lap overall. Danielsson previously attended the Dutch Grand Prix weekend at Zandvoort when McLaren announced her selection for that test session.

A Rapid Junior Single-Seater Rise
Danielsson began her single-seater career in Aquilia Formula 1000 in 2022 before stepping up to Nordic 4 in 2024, clinching her first series victory the following year. Her 2025 campaign also included a debut win in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Scandinavia and a run in the inaugural F1 ACADEMY Rookie Test, where she placed sixth in both sessions.
This season, Danielsson has competed in the Formula 4 CEZ Championship, collecting five points-scoring results with a personal best of P6 in Race 2 at Autodrom Most.

âI will race as a Wild Card in F1 ACADEMY during the United States Grand Prix, which feels absolutely amazing,â Danielsson said. âRacing at COTA in front of such a huge crowd, right in the middle of a Formula 1 weekend, will be an experience I will never forget and something I can build on going forward.â
As track activity ramps up across categories at the Circuit of The Americas, Danielsson is eager to adapt quickly to the demanding schedule:
âMy main goal for the weekend is to learn as much as I possibly can. Iâm also competing for a place on the grid for the full season next year, so if I get that opportunity, I want to be as prepared as I can be. All the support from More than Equal has made such a big difference... I feel like Iâm a much more complete and stronger driver now.â
Special Livery Celebrating Community and Inclusion
Danielsson will pilot the #45 TeamViewer operated by Hitech entry, featuring a bespoke livery celebrating TeamViewerâs Forward Together initiative. The campaign highlights how formal and informal networks empower women to enter and advance within tech and motorsport fields.
The bespoke design showcases 250 women across mentorship and support roles, including members from Austin Women in Tech, Girlstart, Women in Miami Tech, and Driven by Us. The message aligns with findings from TeamViewer and Loughborough University Londonâs Women in Sport Tech report, which revealed that 55% of women in tech view professional communities as critical to career advancement.
