Leclerc to miss São Paulo media day after daughter’s birth
Charles Leclerc will miss Thursday’s São Paulo media day after the birth of daughter Bianca, while his Friday running remains uncertain.

Charles Leclerc will miss Thursday’s media day ahead of the São Paulo Grand Prix after the birth of his daughter, Bianca. The Ferrari driver stayed behind to be present for the arrival of his first child with partner Alexandra and is travelling to Brazil today.
The birth of Bianca was announced by Leclerc and Alexandra; read more in our report on the couple’s family news.
Leclerc was not listed for Thursday’s media commitments. The day at Interlagos typically includes the FIA press conference along with team broadcast and sponsor duties, which are mandatory under sporting regulations unless a dispensation is granted.
Beganovic takes Leclerc’s place in first practice
Dino Beganovic will drive in first practice in Leclerc’s place. The session forms part of the requirement for a rookie to take part in four FP1 sessions during a season, so Beganovic’s appearance is tied to that obligation.
A driver who misses mandatory commitments without an approved reason can be summoned by the stewards and face a financial penalty. Leclerc’s absence, however, is expected to be treated as a standard exemption rather than a breach.
The schedule change does not yet clarify when Leclerc will get behind the wheel. It remains unknown whether he will miss any track running on Friday, from second practice onwards, or whether he is travelling now to reach São Paulo in time for Friday afternoon.

Leclerc arrives after a demanding run of races
The timing places the birth near the end of a hectic triple-header, with Leclerc still in contention for second in the drivers’ championship. He heads to Brazil after finishing fourth in Mexico City, where he received a penalty for an opening-lap clash with Lewis Hamilton.
For now, Leclerc’s Thursday absence is confirmed, while his Friday programme remains uncertain. His first-practice seat will go to Beganovic, but the length of Leclerc’s delay to the track will depend on his arrival and the remaining schedule.
