Andretti unveils Liberty Walk-inspired chrome livery for Tokyo E-Prix

Andretti brings Japanese car culture to Tokyo

Andretti Formula E will run a special chrome-inspired livery at this weekend’s 2026 TDK Tokyo E-Prix, celebrating Japanese car culture during Formula E’s first-ever nighttime double-header in the capital.

Created in collaboration with Liberty Walk, the Japan-based automotive lifestyle brand, the design will appear on both Andretti cars for Rounds 14 and 15. It draws inspiration from Liberty Walk’s LB-Works GT-R and Skyline Silhouette builds, combining Andretti’s racing identity with one of the most recognisable styles in global car culture.

The visual package features chrome bodywork, bold blue detailing, kanji typography and Liberty Walk branding. The result is a deliberately distinctive look that matches the futuristic character of Formula E while keeping the partnership’s Japanese influence front and centre.

Andretti drivers Jake Dennis and Felipe Drugovich will also wear bespoke race suits. Team members will exchange their usual apparel for clothing influenced by Liberty Walk’s signature aesthetic.

Tokyo activation brings the collaboration to fans

The partnership will extend beyond the track on Wednesday, July 22, when Andretti hosts a fan-facing event at Liberty Walk’s Harajuku store. The team’s drivers are scheduled to arrive in a modified Nissan Skyline ER34 carrying the same chrome-and-blue design before parking alongside the GEN3 Evo.

Fans will be able to buy a limited-edition merchandise collection, including a collaborative T-shirt, keychain and die-cast model car.

Andretti Formula E Team Principal Roger Griffiths said the project grew from a conversation between car enthusiasts from both organisations during the team’s visit to Tokyo a year ago. “What started as a conversation ... has grown into a remarkable collaboration that celebrates the culture and passion for cars that exists throughout Japan,” he said.

Liberty Walk Group Founder Wataru Kato described the project as an opportunity to bring the brand’s signature style to “one of the most advanced racecars in motorsport”. He added that Japan’s role as host of Formula E’s first pair of night races made the collaboration especially significant.

The title fight arrives in Tokyo with only four rounds of the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship remaining. Saturday and Sunday’s races will both begin at 20:05 local time, with the championship described as closer than ever and “zero margin for error”.
