Bearman keeps Ferrari dream firmly in view
Oliver Bearman has dismissed the prospect of leaving the Ferrari driver programme for Aston Martin, insisting that his long-term objective remains securing a race seat with the Maranello team.
Speaking on the F1 Beyond The Grid podcast, the 21-year-old Haas driver addressed the increasingly fluid Formula 1 market and the uncertainty surrounding his own future. Despite making an impressive start to his full-time career, Bearmanâs route to Ferrari has become less straightforward as Lewis Hamiltonâs performance at the Scuderia has improved.
That situation has fuelled speculation that Bearman could consider an alternative path. However, when asked whether he would be open to joining Aston Martin if Fernando Alonso were to leave the Silverstone-based squad, the Briton gave a clear answer.
âIâm very much committed to what Ferrari have offered me, and they have supported me since the very beginning, since I joined F3, and Iâm only sitting here thanks to them,â Bearman said.
He added that Ferrari remains his âdream teamâ, both because of his place within its driver programme and because of the standing he attaches to the brand.
âFor me, Ferrari is the dream team, not only because Iâm part of Ferrari, but because itâs the most iconic brand probably in the world. So my goal remains to be a Ferrari driver one day. That, at the moment, is the case, and then we need to see how things develop.â
Aston Martin not on Bearmanâs immediate radar
Bearman acknowledged that Aston Martin is currently experiencing a difficult period, but stopped short of presenting the team as a realistic target for his next career move.
âAston Martin are going through a tough time, but Iâm sure that one day they will be incredibly strong. But I wouldnât say Iâm looking towards them at this stage,â he said.
The comments reinforce a position Bearman has already outlined amid the driver-market discussion: Ferrari remains the destination he wants, even if the timing of a potential promotion is uncertain. His remarks also come as the wider market continues to generate speculation, including recent discussion surrounding Alonsoâs future.
Bearman leads Haas team-mate in points
After the first half of the 2026 season, Bearman sits 13th in the driversâ championship with 18 points. Haas team-mate Esteban Ocon is 17th with three points, while the team occupies seventh in the constructorsâ standings on 21 points.
Those figures give Bearman a strong internal comparison as he continues to establish himself in Formula 1. For now, though, his message is unambiguous: his immediate focus remains Haas, while his long-term ambition remains Ferrari.
