Bearman keeps Ferrari dream firmly in view

Oliver Bearman has dismissed the prospect of leaving the Ferrari driver programme for Aston Martin, insisting that his long-term objective remains securing a race seat with the Maranello team.

That situation has fuelled speculation that Bearman could consider an alternative path. However, when asked whether he would be open to joining Aston Martin if Fernando Alonso were to leave the Silverstone-based squad, the Briton gave a clear answer.

He added that Ferrari remains his “dream team”, both because of his place within its driver programme and because of the standing he attaches to the brand.

“For me, Ferrari is the dream team, not only because I’m part of Ferrari, but because it’s the most iconic brand probably in the world. So my goal remains to be a Ferrari driver one day. That, at the moment, is the case, and then we need to see how things develop.”

Aston Martin not on Bearman’s immediate radar

Bearman acknowledged that Aston Martin is currently experiencing a difficult period, but stopped short of presenting the team as a realistic target for his next career move.

“Aston Martin are going through a tough time, but I’m sure that one day they will be incredibly strong. But I wouldn’t say I’m looking towards them at this stage,” he said.

The comments reinforce a position Bearman has already outlined amid the driver-market discussion: Ferrari remains the destination he wants, even if the timing of a potential promotion is uncertain. His remarks also come as the wider market continues to generate speculation, including recent discussion surrounding Alonso’s future.

Bearman leads Haas team-mate in points

After the first half of the 2026 season, Bearman sits 13th in the drivers’ championship with 18 points. Haas team-mate Esteban Ocon is 17th with three points, while the team occupies seventh in the constructors’ standings on 21 points.

Those figures give Bearman a strong internal comparison as he continues to establish himself in Formula 1. For now, though, his message is unambiguous: his immediate focus remains Haas, while his long-term ambition remains Ferrari.
