Cadillac ended the 2026 World Endurance Championship season with victory in the 6 Hours of Monza, as the #8 Toyota crew clinched the Hypercar drivers’ title despite finishing outside the points. Jack Aitken, Sébastien Bourdais and Earl Bamber led most of the race in the #38 Cadillac, taking the chequered flag 5.6 seconds clear of Alpine.

Rain over Friday and Saturday preceded a dry race on Sunday, but the contest was repeatedly interrupted. It featured four Safety Car periods and three Full Course Yellows, with six manufacturers represented in the top six.

Cadillac stays clear through a disrupted Hypercar race

Aitken moved past pole-sitter Miguel Molina’s Ferrari early, then took the lead from Daniel Juncadella’s Genesis at Parabolica. Juncadella had taken the lead after contact with Molina at the opening chicane and received a five-second penalty. An early Virtual Safety Car allowed him to serve it without losing second place.

Genesis’ chance of a podium disappeared when Paul-Loup Chatin stopped with a technical problem early in the third hour. Alpine became Cadillac’s closest challenger, with Victor Martins pressing Bourdais and briefly making contact with him. Bamber maintained the lead in the closing stages, while the #36 Alpine finished second.

The #51 Ferrari took third after the #007 Aston Martin, which had crossed the line in that position, received a 20-second penalty for a tyre-pressure infringement. Ferrari’s other two entries had also been penalised for tyre-pressure violations, but recovered to seventh and eighth. Toyota takes the title as Porsche wins LMGT3

Toyota’s two cars both finished outside the points. The #8 trio of Brendon Hartley, Sébastien Buemi and Ryo Hirakawa placed 11th, enough to secure their third Hypercar title together. The #7 crew needed at least second to overturn the 17-point deficit, but neither Toyota scored.

In LMGT3, Richard Lietz, Riccardo Pera and Yasser Shahin won for Manthey in the #92 Porsche, edging the Aston Martin by 0.270 seconds. Jonny Edgar, Ben Keating and Nicky Catsburg finished third in the #33 Corvette, a result that made Edgar the series’ first solo champion since Lietz in 2015.
