CUPRA KIRO unveils GEN4 challenger at Paris Motor Show

CUPRA KIRO has revealed its challenger for the GEN4 era of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, unveiling a revised livery at the Paris Motor Show on 12 October 2026. The team will field Pepe Martí and Jake Hughes behind the wheel of its new car.
The design keeps the fluorescent yellow that has become a defining part of the team’s look, pairing it with copper accents associated with CUPRA. The livery develops the identity established since CUPRA became a co-title partner of Kiro Race Co in 2024, while adopting sharper lines intended to reflect the character of the new-generation machinery.

Hughes and Martí will form the driver pairing for the team’s next campaign. Read more about Hughes’ return to Formula E with CUPRA KIRO and Martí’s extended deal with the team.
GEN4 promises a substantial performance increase
The new car is capable of speeds above 335kph, with an estimated 0-100kph time of around 1.8 seconds and a 0-200kph time of 4.4 seconds. That latter figure is 1.5 seconds quicker than its predecessor, according to the championship’s figures.

GEN4 is set to deliver 50% more power in race mode than the current GEN3 Evo car. In qualifying mode, it is expected to be an average of 10 seconds faster per lap than GEN3. The car can produce up to 600kW in ATTACK MODE, a 71% rise in base output compared with GEN3 Evo. It will also be the only single-seater race car with permanent all-wheel drive.
O’Hagan targets a place at the front
Team principal Russell O’Hagan described the reveal as a major moment for the organisation, citing the work put into preparing for Formula E’s new era. He said the team believes its technical package and driver line-up give it a chance to compete near the front, while recognising that the level of competition will be high.
O’Hagan added that CUPRA KIRO had worked to improve across almost every area over the past year. The team now intends to test that progress in competition, with the aim of establishing itself as a contender when racing begins later this year.
The unveiling marks the team’s entry into a new phase of Formula E, with the revised colours carrying forward familiar elements while the GEN4 car brings a major step in performance.
