The Pursuit: F1 ACADEMY will make its global debut on Disney+ on November 19, bringing a behind-the-scenes look at the series’ 2025 campaign to the streaming platform. The documentary special is set to arrive ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, which runs from November 19 to 21. It will also become available on the ESPN App later this year.

Announced ahead of the United States Grand Prix in Austin, the film follows Doriane Pin, Maya Weug, Chloe Chambers and Alisha Palmowski across race locations featured on the 2025 F1 Academy calendar. Its focus extends beyond competition, examining the personal demands and sacrifices involved in pursuing a career in motorsport.

The film follows drivers on and off the circuit

The documentary will chart the pressure of race weekends alongside pivotal moments away from the track. It is also set to explore ambition, perseverance and representation in a sport traditionally dominated by men, while offering a look at the teams and leadership behind F1 Academy.

That leadership includes managing director Susie Wolff, whose perspective on the series’ purpose has featured in her comments on how F1 Academy’s success should be measured. The film’s emphasis on driver journeys also puts Pin’s path into focus; she has since been linked with a return to Le Mans.

Disney and Formula 1 extend their storytelling partnership

Produced with ESPN, the special is the latest project under “Fuel the Magic”, a multi-year partnership involving Disney, Formula 1 and F1 Academy. The collaboration combines storytelling with racing culture and fan experiences at Grand Prix events around the world.

The partnership was first unveiled at the Chinese Grand Prix in 2026 and expanded to include F1 Academy at the Canadian Grand Prix that year. Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck were placed at the centre of that extension, which promotes confidence, representation and the next generation of women in motorsport.

The documentary gives the collaboration a new platform, with the drivers’ experiences at the heart of the release. Disney’s Joss Hastings said the project would share the racers’ courage and ambition while seeking to inspire young women. Wolff said the film would show both the setbacks and achievements that form part of a driver’s journey, on and off the track.
