Ferrari confirms Alba Larsen for third F1 ACADEMY season
Alba Larsen will return with Ferrari for a third F1 ACADEMY campaign in 2027 after reaching the podium twice at Zandvoort.

Ferrari has confirmed Alba Larsen will return to F1 ACADEMY in 2027, making her the first driver announced for next season and the first to contest a third campaign in the series. The Dane will continue with the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy after a rule change opened the door to an additional season for drivers judged to have strong potential for further development.
The announcement, made on October 16, 2026, comes as Larsen sits fourth in the standings with two rounds left this season. She is set to race in Austin and Las Vegas before beginning preparations for another year on the F1 ACADEMY grid.
Larsen’s progress has earned a third season
Ferrari signed Larsen midway through her debut campaign in 2025. She recorded 10 top-10 finishes that year in the Tommy Hilfiger car before switching to Ferrari colours for the current season.

Her strongest series result so far came at Zandvoort, where she finished second twice to claim her first F1 ACADEMY podium. Readers can revisit the Zandvoort feature race coverage, while our earlier coverage of Larsen’s F1 ACADEMY campaign follows another chapter of her progress in the series.
The 17-year-old has also taken her first victory in British F4 this season. Her return gives her another campaign to build on the results she has produced across both categories, while keeping her with Ferrari’s driver-development programme.
Larsen will return as the first confirmed 2027 entrant
The third-season allowance is restricted to drivers whose performances indicate significant room to grow, according to the rule change announced last year. Larsen is the first to secure a place under that provision for 2027.

She has spoken positively about the series’ development and the support around her, and said she was proud to remain part of it. Larsen will race again with Scuderia Ferrari HP, with the next two rounds of this year’s championship still to come before her third season begins.
Her present focus remains on the closing stretch of the 2026 campaign. Fourth in the standings, she heads into Austin and Las Vegas with a pair of podium finishes already recorded this year and the prospect of another season confirmed.
