Formula E Karting makes historic debut at SEVEN Abha
The landscape of Saudi motorsport has expanded significantly with the successful launch of Formula E Karting at SEVEN Abha. Just three weeks after its opening, the pioneering indoor attraction has already welcomed thousands of guests, establishing itself as a premier destination for both families and aspiring racing enthusiasts.
Developed under an official license from Formula E, this world-first attraction brings the championship's sustainable DNA to the Aseer Region. The venue features a high-tech, 428-meter indoor track designed to immerse drivers in a multi-sensory racing environment.
Cutting-Edge Technology and Heritage
The attraction offers a diverse fleet of electric karts, including adult, junior, and dual models, allowing drivers of various skill levels to experience high-speed electric racing. Beyond the physical track, the venue serves an educational purpose; visitors can explore interactive displays that detail the history of Formula Eâs teams, drivers, and technical milestones. These exhibits highlight the sport's role as a critical proving ground for electric vehicle (EV) performance.
Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E, noted the importance of this new touchpoint: âAs a unique touchpoint for our sport, we hope the immersive nature of the attraction can serve as an opportunity to introduce and educate new audiences about Formula E.â

The launch in Abha is a strategic move that aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, aimed at enhancing the quality of life and fostering local motorsport talent. By bringing premium leisure experiences to the Aseer Region, SEVEN and Formula E are diversifying the Kingdom's entertainment landscape.

Looking Ahead to the GEN4 Era in Jeddah
This karting milestone arrives as the championship prepares for its most significant technical shift. In December 2026, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will kick off its 2026/27 season at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
This season opener will witness the historic debut of the GEN4 car, a revolutionary machine capable of accelerating from 0-100kph in just 1.8 seconds. Fans can also look forward to the new âE-Prix Unleashedâ format, which will showcase the raw 600kW performance of these machines. As enthusiasts prepare for the upcoming season, tickets for the season opener in Jeddah are now available, marking the beginning of a high-octane era for electric racing in the Kingdom.
