The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is set to enter a transformative new chapter. On December 18 & 19, 2026, the prestigious season opener will descend upon the iconic Jeddah Corniche Circuit for the very first time. This high-stakes double-header marks the official commencement of the 2026/27 championship and, more importantly, signals the dawn of the GEN4 era.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Red Sea coastline, fans can expect two nights of pure adrenaline. The event will feature the worldâs fastest electric race cars competing wheel-to-wheel under the intense glow of the floodlights.
The Power of GEN4: Unprecedented Performance
The Jeddah E-Prix will offer the global audience its first glimpse of the groundbreaking GEN4 car. This machine represents a quantum leap in electric motorsport technology. Engineered for extreme performance, the GEN4 is capable of reaching speeds in excess of 335kph. Its acceleration is equally staggering, capable of hitting 0-100kph in approximately 1.8 seconds, and 0-200kph in just 4.4 secondsâa significant improvement of 1.5 seconds over its predecessor.
In terms of raw capability, the GEN4 delivers 50% more power in race mode than the current GEN3 Evo. When drivers activate ATTACK MODE, the GEN4 produces up to 600kW of power, representing a massive 71% increase in base output over the GEN3 Evo. Furthermore, the GEN4 stands as the only single-seater race car featuring permanent all-wheel drive. During qualifying sessions, the GEN4 is expected to be an average of 10 seconds faster per lap than the GEN3.
