Formula E and Sennheiser announce multi-year partnership

Formula E has named Sennheiser its Official Sound Provider in a multi-year partnership designed to change how fans experience the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

As the series moves towards the GEN4 era, the partnership positions audio as a central part of Formula E’s wider sport-tech strategy. Sennheiser’s AMBEO ecosystem will support the capture, processing and reproduction of natural, three-dimensional sound, giving viewers the impression of being closer to the grid and the action.

Andreas Sennheiser, CEO of Sennheiser Group, said the partnership would allow the company to explore the role sound can play in electric racing, including dynamic in-car and trackside soundscapes. “Great visuals deserve equally compelling sound,” he said.

Beyond the broadcast

The technology will not be limited to television coverage. Formula E also plans to use the partnership to enhance onsite fan zones and VIP hospitality, supporting its ambition to deliver one of the most cutting-edge experiences in sports entertainment.

London finale remains the immediate focus

The announcement arrives ahead of the 2025/26 season finale at London’s ExCeL, where the championship will be decided across a double-header on 15 and 16 August. Nine drivers remain in mathematical contention, with only two races left in the GEN3 era.

The weekend begins with Free Practice 1 at 16:00 local time on Friday 14 August. Saturday’s qualifying session starts at 10:40, followed by the race at 15:05. On Sunday, Free Practice 3 begins at 08:30, qualifying takes place at 10:40 and the second race starts at 15:05. All times are BST.
