London finale brings multiple Formula E chapters to a close

The Formula E Season 12 finale arrives this weekend with far more than a championship at stake. Across the double-header at the ExCeL Centre, the series will crown a new world champion, close the Gen3 era and make its final appearance at the indoor/outdoor London circuit.

As the London E-Prix title race reaches its climax, the sporting focus will be concentrated on a four-way contest.

Four drivers lead the championship battle

Dennis arrives as the slight favourite. Evans, the only member of the leading quartet yet to win a world title, is aiming to end his time with Jaguar by taking the championship. Wehrlein is chasing redemption after losing his title defence last year, while Rowland is pursuing back-to-back crowns.

The competitive picture is therefore unusually compressed: two races, four leading contenders and a title that will be decided at the end of the Gen3 cycle. London will settle it all.

London E-Prix schedule

First practice begins on Friday at 16:00 BST. Saturday and Sunday will follow identical timetables, with practice, qualifying and an E-Prix scheduled on both days.

Saturday’s race will include Pit Boost, while Sunday’s race will feature two Attack Modes. Both E-Prix races start at 15:00 BST, a change from recent seasons designed to avoid a direct clash with Formula 1.

With the championship fight separated by only five points at the front, every session carries significance. The finale is not simply the last meeting of the season: it is the final competitive statement of Gen3, the last London race at ExCeL and the stage on which Formula E’s next champion will be crowned.
