Keanu Al Azhari to step up to FIA Formula 3 with Hitech in 2027

Hitech has confirmed that Keanu Al Azhari will make the step up to the FIA Formula 3 Championship with the team in 2027, extending a partnership that has developed across several seasons.
The 18-year-old arrives with a varied record across junior categories. In 2025, racing with Hitech in GB3, he secured one victory, six podiums and three pole positions. This year, he has competed for the team in both the Eurocup-3 Spanish Winter Championship and Eurocup-3.

Strong results across Eurocup-3
Al Azhari won the Spanish Winter Championship with two victories and seven podium finishes. In the main Eurocup-3 series, he is currently third in the standings, with two rounds remaining and one race win to his name.
The results set up his next challenge at FIA F3 level, where he will continue with a team he knows well. Al Azhari said the promotion carried particular significance as a representative of the UAE, describing himself as proud and excited to make the move.

âI am proud and honoured to continue my journey with my family at Hitech as we step up together into the 2027 FIA Formula 3 Championship.â
He also called becoming the first driver from the UAE to compete in FIA Formula 3 a milestone, saying he was humbled by the support of his country. He added that he hoped his progress would encourage young drivers across the region to pursue their ambitions.
Hitech backs his racecraft
Hitech FIA F3 Team Manager Paul Bellringer said the team had worked closely with Al Azhari over the past two seasons and had seen his development first-hand. He pointed to the driverâs wins and podiums, while identifying his ability to advance through the field as a notable strength.
Bellringer said Al Azhari had shown he could move forward when a weekend had not gone to plan or conditions were difficult, and described that quality as valuable for the step to Formula 3. He also highlighted the significance of seeing a driver progress through Hitechâs categories and reach F3 with the team.
âKeanu knows how we work, we know what he is capable of, and weâre looking forward to continuing that progression together in 2027.â
For Al Azhari, the move brings a new level of competition and a chance to carry the UAE flag into the championship. Hitechâs announcement confirms the next stage of a relationship built through several seasons of racing together.
