Nissan brings a special look to its home race

Nissan Formula E Team has revealed a special livery for its home event ahead of the 2026 TDK Tokyo E-Prix, where the championship will stage a double-header on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 July.

The livery reveal adds another layer to a major weekend for Nissan. The team will also have a sold-out dedicated grandstand overlooking the pit straight on Saturday, underlining the scale of its home support.

Rowland targets another Tokyo victory

Oliver Rowland arrives in Japan with a particularly strong record at the venue. He has secured all three Julius Baer Pole Positions staged in Japan, giving him a perfect record of starting from the front of the grid there.

The 2024/45 Season World Champion converted last year’s pole position into victory and will now be aiming to repeat that result across both races as he pursues back-to-back drivers’ titles.

Rowland sits third in the standings on 114 points. Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein leads on 141, while Jaguar TCS Racing’s Mitch Evans is second on 132. With four rounds remaining in the championship, the Tokyo double-header represents a significant opportunity for the reigning champion to close the gap.

“It’s always special coming back to Tokyo,” Rowland said. “Racing at Nissan’s home event is something we all look forward to, and the atmosphere around the circuit is fantastic. I’ve always enjoyed driving this track and it’ll be interesting to see how it changes under the lights for the first night race here.”

A crucial double-header under the lights

Rowland added that the team’s priority would be to deliver a strong result in front of its fans, with plenty still to fight for in the title battle.

Practice begins on Friday evening, followed by qualifying and the first race on Saturday. The second qualifying session and race take place on Sunday, giving the leading contenders two opportunities to score points at Nissan’s home event.
