A social-media clip appearing to show Lando Norris poking fun at Lance Stroll after the Singapore Grand Prix has sparked a heated debate among Formula 1 fans. Neither driver has commented on the footage, which shows Norris out with Haas driver Ollie Bearman after the race.

The video was posted by fan account MV3daily on the night of the grand prix. As a spectator held up a sign reading “To the best driver”, Norris can be heard asking, “Where’s Lance, where’s Lance?” Many viewers interpreted the remark as a dig at the Aston Martin driver.

The clip draws millions of views and sharp reactions

The post had attracted 3.3 million views, around 19,000 likes and 564 replies at the time of writing. MV3daily criticised Norris in its caption, arguing that Stroll deserved more decency even if fans did not consider him the best driver on the grid.

One highly liked reply joked about the pressure on Norris’s public-relations manager. The discussion grew heated enough for MV3daily to ask followers to ease off in a post the following day.

The clip drew attention to Stroll’s difficult season: he has yet to score a point and became the first driver to reach 100 Q1 eliminations this year. The viral footage does not show any response from him, and Norris has also remained silent.

Norris leaves Singapore after a difficult weekend

The video emerged after a troubled weekend for Norris. In Saturday’s sprint, he and Oscar Piastri collided at Turn 5 while fighting for fourth on the final lap. Piastri retired, while Norris recovered to eighth. McLaren took one point from the sprint as Red Bull closed in on third place in the constructors’ championship.

Norris later accepted responsibility, saying he had let the team down and apologised to its members. In Sunday’s grand prix, he finished fourth, 40.5 seconds behind winner Max Verstappen. He is sixth in the drivers’ standings on 201 points, while McLaren holds a seven-point advantage over Red Bull in the constructors’ table.

The next round is the United States Grand Prix in Austin, scheduled for 23–25 October. For related coverage, see F1LivePulse’s reports on Norris being targeted by online abuse and Stroll’s F1 future.
