Sergio Perez extends Cadillac deal until at least 2029
Sergio Perez has extended his Cadillac contract through at least 2029, keeping him with the team as it continues its first Formula 1 season.

Sergio Perez will remain with Cadillac until at least 2029 after signing a contract extension announced on Wednesday, ahead of the Mexico City Grand Prix.
Perez joined the team’s Formula 1 project before its 2026 debut. The new agreement gives Cadillac continuity with the Mexican driver as it works to build its position on the grid. The announcement also comes as Perez prepares to make his 300th F1 start in front of his home fans this weekend.
Perez commits to Cadillac’s long-term project
Perez said extending his commitment felt like a natural next step after joining the team from the beginning. He recognised that creating a competitive F1 operation takes time and patience, and said there was still substantial work ahead.

The driver thanked Dan Towriss, Mark Reuss, TWG Motorsports and General Motors for the opportunity to continue the project, along with team members and fans for their support. His new deal keeps him at Cadillac for the next three years, with the contract running until at least 2029. The extension follows his earlier two-year commitment to Cadillac.
Cadillac targets further progress after a scoreless start
Cadillac and Perez have yet to score a point this season, but the team has made steady progress over the course of its first campaign. Towriss described Perez as an integral part of the operation and said retaining his talent and leadership would provide continuity as Cadillac builds on its foundations.

The team’s stated focus is on its next phase and moving further up the grid. Perez has won six Grands Prix across a career that has included spells with Sauber, McLaren, Force India, Racing Point and Red Bull.
The announcement places a longer-term commitment behind a partnership that began before Cadillac’s first season. It also arrives at a significant weekend for Perez, with his 300th start set to come at his home race. Cadillac will continue its push to improve with the Mexican driver remaining part of the project through at least 2029; the team’s 2026 campaign has already brought steady progress, despite its scoreless start.
