Rodin Motorsport dominates also Qualifying 2 with Stenshorne on pole
Rodin Motorsport has asserted absolute dominance on the streets of Baku, securing two pole positions during a high-stakes qualifying weekend. Following Alex Dunne's success in the opening session, Martinius Stenshorne claimed pole position for the second Feature Race, marking a sensational Thursday for the team.
Stenshorne's Monster Lap
In a frantic second 20-minute qualifying session, Martinius Stenshorne delivered a masterclass in precision. After a competitive opening where Emerson Fittipaldi Jr. set the initial pace, the intensity surged as drivers fought to exploit the momentum of the expanded Baku qualifying format.
While several drivers struggled with consistency—including a high-speed spin from Hitech's Colton Herta and lock-ups from Rafael Câmara and Sebastián Montoya—Stenshorne remained composed. The Norwegian driver showcased incredible speed, particularly through a superb middle sector that saw him sit four-tenths clear of his teammate. A perfect slipstream and a commanding final sector secured him the top spot with a massive 0.445-second margin.
The Grid for Feature Race 2
Stenshorne's performance left the field trailing significantly. Alex Dunne will join him on the front row, continuing Rodin Motorsport's stranglehold on the weekend. Rafael Câmara secured third for Invicta Racing, narrowly edging out PREMA Racing’s Mari Boya and ART Grand Prix’s Kush Maini, who both found late-session pace to round out the top five.
The top ten was rounded out by Noel León (Campos), Laurens van Hoepen (Trident), championship leader Nikola Tsolov (Campos), Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak (ART), and Sebastián Montoya (PREMA).
