Callum Voisin has been appointed Andretti Formula E’s official development driver ahead of the 2026/27 championship season, with simulator work and race preparation central to his new role.

The British-Swiss racer will work with Andretti’s engineers to support Jake Dennis and Felipe Drugovich as the team prepares for Formula E’s Gen4 era. His duties will largely take place away from the circuit, building knowledge ahead of race weekends and helping the team adapt to its next generation of machinery.

Voisin’s appointment follows his appearance for Andretti at the official rookie test in Madrid in March. The team is also preparing for its new-car campaign, with further detail on Andretti’s GEN4 powertrain plans available here.

Carrera Cup title adds weight to Voisin’s appointment

Voisin arrives after a standout campaign in Porsche Carrera Cup GB, where he secured the 2026 title for Rosland Gold by Century Motorsport with two races remaining. He finished the season with nine victories.

His experience spans several forms of racing. Voisin won the 2023 GB3 Championship with Rodin Carlin before moving into Formula 3, where he took a feature-race victory from pole at Spa-Francorchamps in 2024. He has also competed in Porsche Carrera Cup Italia and the Asian Le Mans Series with High Class Racing.

The role builds on earlier Formula E experience. Voisin made his first appearance in the machinery at the 2025 rookie test in Berlin with Cupra Kiro, finishing fifth overall, before joining Andretti for the Madrid test.

Simulator work will support Andretti’s race preparation

Andretti team principal Campbell Hobson described the appointment as a continuation of the relationship formed during the rookie test. He said Voisin’s simulator contribution would assist the engineers and both race drivers as the team develops its understanding of Gen4, while his experience across categories showed an ability to adapt.

The new position gives Voisin a deeper role within the team as it prepares for the changing technical demands of the coming era. Drugovich, one of the drivers he will support, has also discussed the new generation in his take on Formula E’s GEN4 development.
