Formula 2 confirms 11 teams for 2027-2029 cycle
Ten teams from the 2026 Formula 2 grid have been retained for 2027-2029, with LN4 Fusion joining an unchanged 22-car field.

Formula 2 will retain ten teams from its 2026 grid for the 2027-2029 seasons, with newcomer LN4 Fusion completing an 11-team line-up. Each entrant will continue to field two cars, keeping the championship grid at 22 cars.
The selection confirms a three-year roster for the next cycle, while preserving the current team count. LN4 Fusion is the only addition to the list announced by the championship promoters. The team had previously confirmed an application to enter Formula 2 in 2027.
Ten current teams stay, with LN4 Fusion joining
The selected teams, listed alphabetically, are ART Grand Prix, Campos Racing, DAMS, Hitech, Invicta Racing, LN4 Fusion, MP Motorsport, PREMA Racing, Rodin Motorsport, TRIDENT and Van Amersfoort Racing.
That means the 2026 entrants other than the newcomer will carry on into the next three-season period. The 22-car total will also remain unchanged: eleven teams, each with two entries.
LN4 Fusion’s place in Formula 2 adds to the team’s planned presence in the junior categories. F1LivePulse has reported on its intended Formula 3 entry in 2027, as well as its Formula 2 application.
Promoters point to interest in the next cycle
FIA Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel said teams from around the world had shown strong interest in the new period. He said the ten returning entrants had demonstrated a commitment to creating a strong environment for drivers preparing for Formula 1, and welcomed LN4 Fusion as a team bringing considerable expertise.
Michel added that he expected the newcomer to make a valuable contribution to the championship. The announcement did not identify any changes to the two-car format: every selected team will continue to enter two cars across the 2027-2029 seasons.
The chosen line-up therefore combines continuity across most of the current grid with one new entrant. The championship will begin its next three-year team cycle with 11 teams and 22 cars.
