Rivera commits to Campos for second Formula 3 season

Ernesto Rivera will return to Campos Racing in 2027 after a rookie Formula 3 campaign featuring two wins and three podiums.

Rivera commits to Campos for second Formula 3 season

Ernesto Rivera will stay with Campos Racing for a second season in Formula 3, with the team confirming his return for 2027. The agreement extends a relationship that has run through every year of Rivera’s single-seater career, which began with Campos in 2024.

The Spaniard’s first Formula 3 campaign brought two victories and three podium finishes. He ended the 2026 season seventh in the standings on 87 points, despite missing part of the year through injury.

Rivera targets a full season after injury disruption

Rivera said he was pleased to continue with Campos for his second Formula 3 campaign and fourth year with the team. After losing part of last season to injury, he is now looking ahead to competing across a full campaign.

The Red Bull Junior also thanked Campos and Red Bull for their continued support. His stated aim is to build on last season’s results and remain in contention for victories.

The two wins were a highlight of Rivera’s rookie year, and F1LivePulse has covered one of his race victories as well as another of his wins. His podium tally and seventh place in the standings completed a strong first season, even with the interruption caused by injury.

Campos sees room for further progress in 2027

Campos team principal Adrián Campos praised Rivera’s speed, adaptability and maturity in his first Formula 3 season. He said the driver had made the most of his opportunities, securing wins and podiums while also making a significant contribution to the team’s Teams’ Championship title.

The team principal also pointed to the trust built between Rivera and Campos over their years together, dating back to his move into single-seaters. The 2027 campaign, he said, will give them another opportunity to develop Rivera’s talent and pursue the team’s ambitions.

Rivera’s return keeps that established partnership intact as he moves into a second Formula 3 season. With the experience of a year that included victories, podium finishes and an injury-enforced absence, he will aim to turn that foundation into further results for Campos.
